We fund the training, equipping, and the purchasing of bee boxes for twenty-seven impoverished communities in Peru. The honey is harvested twice a year after which we buy it from our beekeepers and resell in Lima to turn a profit.
Educating
Half our profits go to building and funding classrooms, as well as providing basic necessities. The other half goes expanding The Honey Project. Our goal is to enhance their schools in any way they need to ensure a brighter future for students.
Restoring
We hope to permanently improve the condition of the people in the area and also restore the population of a valuable member of our global ecosystem instrumental in maintaining the planet's habitability.
About My Honey Project
We are a 501(c)(3) organization that works to enhance the education of the students in Olmos, Peru in order to ensure a brighter future for their community. Our mission is to end the cycle of poverty in Olmos and surrounding communities by providing resources, creating agricultural opportunities, and enhancing their education in every way they need.
Why Peru?
Peru is home to one of the largest desert forests in the world, with a special biosphere that has been displaced lately as a byproduct of expanding commercial agriculture in the area. Our boxes are placed on wildlife restoration reserves, where our bees join these fragile and burgeoning ecosystems to pollinate human-planted native wildflowers and saplings.
