About us
What We Do
First, we fundraise through various means. That is the first role My Honey Project plays in this increasingly vast chain of outreach that we started back in 2019.
Next, we send the funds to our partners in the area, Pro Olmos. They match what we raise four-fold, raising the value by a factor of 5. That money is invested in beekeeping equipment, supplies, training, and payrolls for the twenty-six different communities that have volunteered to raise our bees.
Honey is a bi-seasonal crop; we harvest it twice a year. Once harvested, we pay the beekeeps for it, and then it is our job to resell and profit on the honey. Those profits are split — some go back into My Honey Project’s expansion, and the rest go back into providing educational and general resources to the many communities in the area.
We are also branching out into the concept of rewilding: a process by which our bees are used in ecological restoration efforts aimed at bringing back the unique animal and plant life native to Olmos, Peru. Peru is home to one of the largest desert forests in the world, with a special biosphere that has been displaced lately as a byproduct of expanding commercial agriculture in the area. Our boxes are placed on wildlife restoration reserves, where our bees join these fragile and burgeoning ecosystems to pollinate human-planted native wildflowers and saplings.
In doing so, our bees also obtain access to a variety of organic Peruvian pollen unique to this desert climate, adding these wild flavors to our jars of honey.

Our Mission
My Honey Project works to enhance the education of the students in Olmos, Peru in order to ensure a brighter future for their community. Our mission is to end the cycle of poverty in Olmos and surrounding communities by providing resources, creating agricultural opportunities, and enhancing their education in every way they need.
My Honey Project works to improve the living conditions of communities in Chiclayo, Peru through a timeless process that also nurtures our most important pollinators: beekeeping. Our mission statement, “Transforming Land, Transforming Lives” reflects that ambition, as we not only hope to permanently improve the condition of the people in the area, but to also restore the population of a valuable member of our global ecosystem instrumental in maintaining the planet's habitability.
